After reading through your blog post I feel like going for a nice long walk outside! I think that we are so lucky to have so many beautiful beaches, forests and islands within a short drive of Auckland. I actually live on the west side of the city and spend quite a bit of time going to Karekare beach in the summer. The sand there is black in colour and it gives the whole beach a very mysterious feel. Have you ever walked on a black sand beach?
